The next stage of the Crown Land Use Policy Atlas (the Atlas) development will expand coverage to include all Crown lands in southern Ontario managed by the Ministry of Natural Resources. Area-specific land use policy will primarily come from the existing District Land Use Guidelines and other approved local plans.
The final stage of development will be to expand the Atlas to include the Far North. The Far North Act (2010) guides land use planning in Ontario’s Far North, and provides for the development of community-based land use plans with Far North First Nations. When complete, community-based land use plans will be reflected in the Atlas, along with any existing land use direction.”
