This amendment allows land use direction found in the approved Cochrane District Remote Wilderness Tourism Strategy (1997) to be included in the Crown Land Use Policy Atlas (CLUPA).  Administrative revisions are required for general use area policy reports G1761, G2080, G2083, G2086, G2081, G2084, G2087, G2082, G2085, G2088, and G2089 to include reference regarding outpost camp Land Use Permits which was previously not captured.  Additionally, edits are also required to the policy report for C1606 to include provisions found in the RWS.

Land use polices from the RWS are generally reflected in associated policy reports. This administrative amendment is being proposed to include land use direction found in RWS that was not previously captured in the CLUPA.

The amendment is administrative in nature and there is no anticipated public reaction as the land use direction is outlined in an approved document which was previously consulted upon.  The amendment would not alter MNR’s land-use direction or permitted uses policy, nor are there any anticipated social, economic or environmental impacts.

Public consultation is not required. This amendment incorporates land use direction that has is outlined in the approved Cochrane District Remote Wilderness Tourism Strategy (RWS). The RWS was extensively consulted upon prior to approval in 1997.
